WARNING: Use Facebook? MySpace? Twitter? etc etc? READ THIS!

Ever wonder whether posting what you're doing, where you're going, and when, was a bad idea or not? Wonder no more. Not sure about anyone else (though sure I'm not the only one), but I've told people for years not to announce this kind of information anywhere, especially online - and have largely been ignore.

I'll not bother saying "I told you so", I'll just point you to this instead (and nope - it's not just the US affected, this is known to occur in the UK etc too).

Police in Nashua, New Hampshire, have arrested a group of men suspected of being part of a burglary ring that targeted Facebook users who had reported they were away from home.

According to local news reports, between $100,000 to $200,000 of stolen property has been recovered so far after 50 homes in the city were burgled during the month of August.

Investigators believe that careless homeowners attracted criminal attention after posting on social networks that they would not be home at certain times.
